I suppose almost everyone knows what Anzac Day is but maybe not many know the memorial day for Australian and New Zealand’s troops is on 25 April, the same day in Italy we celebrate the Liberation Day.

When I was little I wasn’t a great cookie fan, especially when they were storebought.
I found them too dry and crunchy ( childish issues I suppose).
I only made an exception for canestrelli, crumbly, buttery, wonderful cookies usually made in Liguria, the Italian region known for Cinque terre, Pesto alla Genovese and more.
Today I am posting a recipe from a friend and fellow blogger called Elisa.
She own a blog ( in Italian) about good food and good restaurants of her zone, Versilia, a renowned part of Tuscan riviera.
To let you know more about Versilia I share with you a site ( in English and other languages) https://www.versilia.org/en : food is always a trigger to learn more about places in the world!
Welcome back to my Cookie Advent Calendar!
Finding 25 different cookies to post has been very challenging as I neither didn’t want to make too similar recipes nor use recipes I already had on blog.
It asked a lot of efforts and work but I am very proud of what I’ve done, so much I’m already thinking about a different Advent Calendar for the next year, not sure about what ( no more cookies for a long time lol!).
After a very traditional Italian recipe today, the day 10 of our Advent Cookie Calendar, I want to share a recipe from the infallible Yotam Ottolenghi.
He is a famous and renowned chef, his recipes are always flavourful and colorful and foolproof!
