Pinza bolognese, traditional bolognese cake with jam.

Pinza bolognese, traditional bolognese cake with jam.

I’m really pleased to introduce you this cake, “ pinza bolognese“, this is my dad’s favourite dessert, is really simple and cheap, it comes from a very old tradition (first quote about this cake was in 1644).

In Italy we have a special name for this kind of cakes: “torte da credenza”.

It means “cupboard cakes” and includes all the cakes which last for days without the need of a refrigerator; it means cakes with no creams or custards, unmoist plum- cakes and bundts, ring shaped cakes.

I’m on a diet and I keep posting dessert.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

Truth is I had the chance to make a couple of nice cakes because some weeks ago it was my birthday and I celebrated it with the family.

I also had the possibility to take nice (but not perfect) pics of some other recipes you’ll see soon on blog; I have material to work on, WOOT WOOT!!

I post this great recipe now because I wanted to write something about Halloween parties and recipes: it’s that time of the year and I love Halloween so much!!

Few weeks ago my father in law came at us to go with my husband at the stadium to see a football match, Bologna- Inter F.C.

We had a quick dinner with piadina bread and cold cuts plus a good cold beer as they had to run off the stadium: it’s not far from where we live but of course you have to find a parking lot then walk, then pass the check points…

They were on a rush to be there in time.

I was very happy to have a whole evening just for me, Lorenzo just started school after the summer break and was exhausted and soon ready for bed so I had totally free time to do something in the kitchen.

It’s something that donesn’t happen often.

I’m back after a long iatus, I did some changes to the blog, nothing visible but I exited the iFood network and now I’m an indipendent blogger, I upgraded my http certificates to https, I’m going to focus more on an international audience from now on so…

I have to improve my English and my posts!

I want to celebrate with one of my favourite cakes: red velvet cake.

I know you maybe are looking for Italian recipes on my pages but I consider all the food of the world part of passion and I love trying, mixing and, of course, sharing with you.

You have to know this cake was almost unknown in Italy untill few years ago; it became famous after some tv shows from U.S.A. like Cake Boss and now you can find it everywhere along with cupcakes and Oreo- everything .
