It’s time for me to speak about another lovely place where you can eat in Santarcangelo di Romagna.
This wonderful village is famous for the many fine restaurants and when we return home we only have to choose where to go for dinner; we waited for too long before trying Ci vediamo da Mario.
It’s a cozy place inside, outside you can enjoy the view of a green park and of a pedestrian street, popular but not crowded.
Catering is a family business here, Mario and relatives owned a place I know because, by chance, my parents and sister had lunch there before coming to Santarcangelo for my wedding: they ate so well and so much they weren’t hungry anymore at the wedding dinner!
At Mario’s, who is proudly standing outside the restaurant in one of the photos above, you can taste dishes made with the finest ingredients you can find locally, dishes mainly vary with seasons, some are always on menu as they are signature dishes like the black pepper crusted fillet ( for two, braised in a single piece to keep it juicy and tender).
You can find plenty of vegetarian options, I adore their salty cheese cake served with warm red onion sweet compote.

First courses go from stuffed pasta to long sized pasta, I went there only in summer and I had the chance to taste summer dishes like kamut ravioli with confit tomatoes, really good; they also have very peculiar kind of pasta like spaghetti made with chickpeas flour.
On my last visit I’ve tried cappellacci stuffed with mortadella ( Bologna) and served with crunchy pistachios and gravy reduction and I loved them so much!
Among second courses, beyond the black pepper filled I wrote about, which can be served in salt instead of pepper, you can find cock stuffed with truffles an some other intresting offers I don’t actually remember because when I sit at Mario’s I only wait for my black pepper fillet.
I have to box their ears a little because I could have checked the dishes I don’t remember on the website if they had one; unluckly they only have a Facebook page, not update.
Desserts are few but well made and well balanced in taste with a preference for chocolate and creams.
They have a huge canteen, me and hubby love eating changing kind of wine at every course and we are always well suggested.
Prices are in line with other top restaurants in Santarcangelo di Romagna but, because of dishes and the kindness of the staff/ owner it is among my very first choices.
[…] Just a quick introduction as I wrote a lot about this wonderful place HERE. […]
